Happy Women's Equality Day - Quotes To Keep You Fighting for Your Rights
Happy Women's Equality Day! August 26, 2015
Women's Equality Day celebrates the day women earned the right to vote in 1920. It took decades for women to earn that right and yes, we're still fighting for rights now.
Like the J'Dilla, song lyric, " You've come so far, you've go so far to go." We still have a ways to go on the road to equality.
Check out Time magazine's infographic and excellent article on why we still need Women's Equality Day and see how far we still have to go!
Here are some quotes that inspire me, or make me smile, I hope today you are inspired as well.
“Forget conventionalisms; forget what the world thinks of you stepping out of your place; think your best thoughts, speak your best words, work your best works, looking to your own conscience for approval.” --Susan B. Anthony
A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.
--Coco Chanel
Any time women come together with a collective intention, it's a powerful thing. Whether it's sitting down making a quilt, in a kitchen preparing a meal, in a club reading the same book, or around the table playing cards, or planning a birthday party, when women come together with a collective intention, magic happens.
--Phylicia Rashad
How wrong it is for a woman to expect the man to build the world she wants, rather than to create it herself.
--Anais Nin
As we celebrate Women's Equality Day; let's also be strategic and celebrate with our actions.
Women - build your empires, exercise your right to vote, use your political power, fight for your rights, and demand equal pay.
